Even with all the organisation of an international wedding, Will & Lauren still managed to organise activities for everyone, which was great. We came to the island only knowing Will, Lauren, Mark and Bec, but will leave knowing many more, and hopefully keeping in contact with a lot and meeting up again in the future.
Today Will & Lauren organised an island hopping trip, which was absolutely sensational. Leaving from Langkawi, we first went to Pulau Beras Basah (Beras Basah Island) for about an hour. Some people swam, some wandered and some just sat on the beach soaking up the tranquillity of it all.
Will’s best man, John, had an encounter with a monkey who decided that John’s bottle of water was rightfully his. Pretty funny stuff as they fought over the water bottle (John won).
After Beras Basah, we motored off past more amazing islands and rock formations, to eventually stop in a small bay and watch eagles feed. From there, it was to the Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park on Palau Batu Merah. We walked about 200 meters to an small bay and relaxed there for about another hour before making the journey back to Langkawi.
All in all, it was probably around 4 hours, and well worth it. The photos below don’t do the trip justice at all- those islands really need to be seen to be believed- just amazing. It really is like a postcard.
