After our excellent Walking Tour of Venice, we took the advice of our guide and went and ate at a local restaurant. We found Ristorante Pizzeria La Rivetta quite easily at San Polo, 1479.
The food was delicious, although we did get entirely different meals than we though we’d ordered. Obviously a breakdown with the language barrier, or the staff were making a bit of a joke of it. We ordered white wine and got red, and ordered still water and got sparkling. No matter- everything tasted exquisite!
The restaurant was also reasonably priced – we ordered 2 main meals as well as 2 glasses of wine. The bill totalled 38 euro which included a 5 euro tip (included as part of the bill).
Clarrie got into some gnocchi too- this Venice place is growing on all of us!

I will also remember this restaurant fondly as Clarrie was enchanted by what I assume to be a fire hydrant or similar.
He loves balls at the moment – soccer balls, tennis balls – any balls. Anything that is slightly round is a ball to him, so we had a wonderful time as Clarrie cuddled this thing yelling “BALL” at the top of his lungs.
