Piazza San Marco

On our walk around Venice today, we made it to Piazza San Marco. For those playing at home, you may remember from the walking tour that we did a few days ago, that Piazza San Marco is one of the few Piazzas in Venice, with the rest of the squares being Campi.

This is the heart of the hustle and bustle of Rome, and although crowded- it’s definitely worth seeing, even if only for a quick stroll around.

St Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace are spectacular to see, and the view across the water to San Giorgio Maggiore are pretty fine too.

It’s hard to get the full feel of a place that’s so crowded, especially when it’s the end of a long day with a toddler strapped to you. Either way, I’m glad we made it here to see it all.
