We just happened to land in Basel on a Sunday. Not just any Sunday, but May Day. A public holiday.
We had to wait a few hours for Europcar to open so we could pick up our vehicle for our next adventure into Switzerland If this by chance is your predicament and Google sent you to this page, then I can tell you that Europcar open at 10am on a Sunday, regardless of whether it’s a holiday or not. All the others either didn’t open at all or not until the afternoon.
If you need to kill some time, the airport has free wifi, and the cafe “Tribs” served excellent coffee and croissants.
There are a volley of arcade games for the kids (or you), that Clarrie got pretty excited about. There are also plenty of power points around the place to plug in a phone charger or two.
Not the most exciting airport in the world, but considering it was a Sunday AND a public holiday, I was surprised that there was anything to do at all.
